Jessica and Kendale said their “I Do’s” this past weekend at a lovely little chapel in Krum, Texas. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony. They invited only their closest family and friends and wrote their own vows. It always gets me choked up when I hear couples describe their love for each other and I wasn’t the only one getting teary eyed at this wedding. I absolutely love capturing real emotion and this wedding was full of touching moments. I especially liked the rendition of “When I Say I Do” that was sung while the family prayed together. It keeps running through my head as I work on these images. I hope the rest of Jessica and Kendale’s life together is as beautiful and loving as this special day.

Sharon & Carlos

I spent some time in Deep Ellum shooting Sharon & Carlos’s engagement session. We made use of some bright colorful walls in the area which I think are especially fitting because Sharon and Carlos will be tying the knot in the amazingly beautiful and colorful Cancun, Mexico. I don’t think I need to really explain how over the moon excited I am to be shooting their wedding! Carlos is a photographer as well so it is an incredible honor to have been their choice. I had a lot of fun wandering the streets with these two. Sharon is so warm and friendly I felt like we’d hung out a million times before. She made me even more ecstatic, as if it were even possible, when she said she was down for a “Day After/Trash the Dress” session on the beach. I can’t wait to be able to share what we come up with, but before I get too far ahead of myself here are some from their session…

Vanessa’s Maternity Session

It’s so hard to get a preview together when there are so many favorites! Seems a bit counter intuitive I know but we got so many lovely shots out of Vanessa’s maternity session that I pretty much couldn’t resist the urge to work on them all right away. I’m probably going to have to throw a few extras into her gallery because there’s just no way I can narrow them down! We met up in the evening to make use of some gorgeous goldgen light. I’m not sure though if it was the sun or Vanessa who was more radiant! What do you think? I think there must be one beautiful baby on it’s way!

Mr. B’s 3 Month Session

It’s been 3 months since I last saw Mr. B. I wouldn’t have thought it possible for him to get even cuter than he was when he was first born, but somehow he’s done it! Look at those big bright eyes and that perfect little face!! Oh and he is so sweet, and so squishy as you can tell by this preview. I’m so happy to have the pleasure of spending some time with this sweetheart and his family every few months. I can’t wait to see how he’ll change and progress over these next 3 months when I come back for his 6 months session. How time flies when you’re having fun!…

Baby E’s Newborn Session

I’ve had to keep the past two wedding related blog posts under lock and key so I’m very happy to finally have some new pictures to share! And what could be better for the first blog post of the New Year than a gorgeous brand new baby girl!? I got to meet Baby E the day after she was born when I came to shoot her Hospital Session from her Grow With Me Collection. (I’ll be sharing a little slideshow from that on the blog soon!) She was pretty content and sleepy as newborns tend to be that day. Before the first week was up though, her Momma was already telling me how she feared we’d never get the cute sleepy poses for her newborn session because little Baby E had decided she only likes to sleep while being cuddled! Baby E did make us work a bit for it, but in the end we prevailed! A little preview….

Kristin & Adam

I absolutely love the colors and light during the Fall. I love that in Texas you can wear a sleeveless top for an engagement session in the middle of November and I love fun couples like Kristin and Adam. I had such a good time exploring the stockyards with them during their engagement session. I usually tend to rely on my own awkward humor during sessions for entertainment during sessions but these two had me cracking up. It’s always interesting meeting and getting to know new people but it’s tons more fun when the people you meet are hilarious. Kristin and Adam have enlisted the fabulously talented Bride Associates to help them plan their wedding that will take place this coming St. Patty’s Day and I can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with. I also can’t wait to see Kristin all done up because she is going to make a positively gorgeous bride!

I told Jenny I’d have this preview ready for her either last night following the session or today and I almost didn’t make it because there were a ridiculous number of favorites to choose from. This is what happens when you pair a picturesque background with a photogenic couple, I end up glued to my computer in an editing frenzy and suddenly the preview is twice as long as normal. It really was the perfect time and place for pictures and I think it’s a good omen for what’s to come for these two in their new life together. It’s going to be tough having to wait until next September for their wedding at Old Red. The wait will get even tougher after we shoot Jenny’s bridals and I have to keep them under lock and key until after the ceremony. I hope the preview was worth the extra wait Jenny. Now it’s my turn to wait!…

The Kraus Family

When poor little Mister C here fell and bumped his forehead right at the beginning of our session I was afraid it might be all over before we even began, but he is a trooper and after a little TLC from mommy and a few hugs from Fuzzy Bear and we were back on track. I had a good time trying to convince both boys to look at the camera. It’s funny how differently boys and girls tend to interact with the camera. Boys are typically playful and mischievous and not nearly as voluntary when it comes to posing, unless of course you happen to be asking them for their best superhero stance… then they most happily oblige! Miss E

I’m a sucker for little girls in big puffy tutus. Throw in some cool shoes with a little attitude and you’ve got the makings for cuteness. Miss E here is cute no matter what though. Look at the big gorgeous peepers on her! This little sweetie needs to be in a parade because every time someone would pass by she’d start waving. She also made sure we knew where all the airplanes were, which reminded me of my son. A few favorites from the session…

Braden’s Newborn Session

I finally got to meet sweet little Braden today! I just knew he was going to be a cutie patootie and he did not disappoint. Mr. B was quite cooperative for the first few shots but when Mommy and I tried to get creative with a baseball glove he showed us what he really thought of the idea…twice…Daddy was none too pleased with the “presents” left in the palm of his glove. We decided it was best to wrap up the session with a bit more clothing on Mr. B and Daddy and Mommy stepped in for some shots of their new family. A little preview…
